Hanssen Retrospective

The church of St-Nizier-sous-Charlieu houses a unique set of stained glass windows from 1949 to 1951 by the glass painter Théodore Gérard Hanssen. Sunday 3rd July, 2011 was celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Blessing of Stained Glass, presided by Cardinal Philippe Barbarin, Archbishop of Lyon.

Our association was invited to this event following the contacts established to inventory the work of Hanssen and prepare a commemorative exhibition, the church of St-Maurice has indeed two stained glass windows by the artist. The opportunity for our association to meet the family of the artist and appreciate these magnificent and original stained glass windows.
