15th Gathering from 20th and 21st June, 2015

This year St-Maurice-les-Chateauneuf in Saone-et-Loire hosted the various towns and villages bearing the name of Saint Maurice. Our village was represented by a delegation of 41 participants. Each team organizing this event highlights its wealth and originality.

It was a friendly and warm week-end like every year.

14th Gathering from 20th to 22nd September, 2014

The gathering took place in St-Maurice-d’Agaune as part of the Jubilee of the 1500th anniversary of the founding of the Abbey of St-Maurice-en-Valais. It was founded in 515 on the tomb of the martyred Theban saints Maurice and his companions. Before the opening of the Jubilee Year on 23th September, the Treasury of the Abbey was exhibited for 3 months in the Louvre, after a noticed passage to Notre-Dame de Paris.

15 villages, 330 participants, 40 of whom from St-Jean-St-Maurice-sur-Loire, were; once more we were pleased to meet contentedly and in a spirit of conviviality and brotherhood.

13th Gathering  24th and 25th August, 2013

St-Jean-St-Maurice-sur-Loire hosted the gathering this year. Our association supported that of the “Twinning of the St-Maurice of Europe”, by organizing visits of the church of St-Maurice (170 people), panoramic comments from the top of the tower (350 visitors) and an exhibition at the Manoir de la Mure (330 people) on “the stormy – and yet true – history of relationships between St-Jean and St-Maurice. The “grand tour” on Sunday, with over a hundred participants, ended the gathering.
